A diagnostic engine — Execution Intelligence for Energy & Resilience capital. Not a consultancy, not a report, not advisory. We read whether capital can deploy into a scaling company — before a check is written, or when a holding stalls.
Every stream of diligence describes the company as it is; none of them reads what capital does to it. That unstaffed layer is what we staff.
Your committee walks away with three objects:
The Verdict — Go · Revisit · Pass, computed, reasoning attached.
The Diagnosis — every finding traced to located evidence.
The Gate Masterplan — what must happen, who owns it, by when.
Holders of growth-stage hardware-and-software companies in Energy & Resilience: family offices and evergreen vehicles investing directly, industrial balance sheets, and growth investors with Series B–D positions.
Two moments call for the read.
Before the check — an investment is on the table; the read runs first, and the verdict is on the desk before the capital is.
A stalled holding — the position has stopped moving; the read names whether the cause is fixable, external, or permanent. The case we want most. Hardest case first.
They ask: good company? We ask: where does it break when capital enters?
Every executive answers a structured maturity diagnostic independently — separately, so no one can quietly align the answers — alongside the company's financial model, the full KPI set, and an experienced operator's outside read.
Then the instrument builds the tensions across three planes:
maturity against maturity — do the leaders see the same company?
Maturity against KPI — does the team's self-assessment survive its own numbers?
KPI against KPI — do the numbers survive each other?
Far more than a maturity score and an archetype alone.
Computed, not composed. The reference system behind the panel — archetypes, tension pairs, localization, failure patterns — is proprietary: calibrated against the recognized market benchmarks (Bessemer, OpenView, KeyBanc, SaaS Capital, PitchBook, Dealroom/Crunchbase, IEA/IRENA, Climate Brick) and extended where they end. Same inputs, same verdict, regardless of who runs it. There is no dial to turn — for anyone, including us.
No single number stands alone. Every figure is held against another: a claim against the reality it implies, one financial line against another it cannot contradict without breaking, each executive's answers against the others'. That cross-grid is the input sanity check, and it runs before any verdict logic: when a figure comes back implausible, nothing gets certified yet — the contradiction goes back to the team, named. A result computed on corrupted inputs is worse than no result.
The three objects, in depth.
The Verdict — depth of decision: one of five states — Go·Deploy, Go·Milestone, Revisit·Execution, Revisit·External, Pass.
Go means capital deploys. Revisit means not yet — the read names what must clear first. Pass means capital doesn't fix this.
The Diagnosis — depth of traceability: what breaks, where it sits, whether it is controllable or structural.
The Gate Masterplan — depth of execution: what must happen, who owns it, by when, for capital to deploy.
No. A verdict is a finding, not an instruction. The investor who reads Revisit and deploys anyway, because the thesis carries the risk, has used the instrument exactly as intended. We are the lab. You stay the doctor: the decision never leaves your committee.
The diagnosed blockers become gates — typed, ordered in the sequence that makes capital safe, each with its closing condition named in advance and one or two accountable executives. Capital follows the same order, releasing on clearance, gate by gate.
The re-read — EI Pulse. On a quarterly clock, the same instrument runs again: same questions, same panel, same standard. The gates answer with evidence, not narrative — cleared, or not, and nobody argues about which. A gate clears, the position lifts, a tranche releases. And when gates don't clear — same tensions, same places, quarters of runway spent — that too is an answer, early enough to act on. The verdict was a position on a path, not a stamp. The team's progress and Pulse is what moves it.
We are a partner to the leadership team, not an examiner — and the partnership rests on exactly the thing we refuse to do. Because we never prescribe, we can show what no seat can see alone: the structural tensions at a flight level that is invisible from inside any single function — extra leverage for the team's own impact.
The disagreements between seats are not an indictment; they are the most accurate map of the company anyone has. The gate defines what must be true — never how. No imposed methodology, no OKR cascade. Full freedom of method stays with the team. Not fear, not vanity: ownership.
The fix itself. The moment a diagnostic has a stake in the outcome it measures, its result is no longer trusted — and the result is the only thing we sell. We surface and hand back; we never resolve. It is the lab logic: whoever runs the test must not sell the treatment. We never become the operator.
Five working days of contribution. The read itself is fixed — no workshops, no weeks on site; the calendar depends on how fast the inputs arrive. Inputs lock — the panel runs — contradictions go back for requery — verdict, diagnosis, and Gate Masterplan deliver. On a stalled holding, the same clock — because there, every undiagnosed quarter is a discount.
